RED RIBBON CLUB

The Youth Club of our college is an instrument in developing self-confidence and life skills among students. The club organizes activities that offer opportunities to interact with peers and learn new skills. The Red Ribbon Club (RRC) is a sub-body of the Youth Club and is an international symbol of HIV/AIDS awareness. The club aims to provide a platform for youth to contribute towards the control and prevention of HIV/ AIDS as well as promote voluntary blood donation among youth. The Youth Club and Red Ribbon Club operate under the guidelines of the Directorate of Youth Services, Mansa, the Government of Punjab.



The main objectives of RED RIBBON CLUB are :

  • Education and Awareness : Provide accurate and up-to-date information about HIV/AIDS, its transmission, and prevention methods.
  • Prevention and Risk Reduction: Encourage regular HIV testing and counseling., Advocate for the use of antiretroviral therapy (ART) and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for high-risk individuals.
  • Empowerment and Advocacy: Equip members with skills to advocate for HIV prevention within their schools, workplaces, or communities.
  • Community Engagement: Organize outreach programs, workshops, and events to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS., Collaborate with local health organizations, NGOs, and government agencies to enhance prevention efforts.
  • Addressing Stigma and Discrimination: Promote acceptance and inclusion of PLHIV, Foster a supportive environment where individuals feel comfortable discussing HIV-related concerns.
  • Building Leadership and Lifelong Health Practices: Train members to become peer educators and role models in HIV prevention., Encourage healthy behaviors that contribute to overall well-being beyond HIV prevention.
